This CPD accredited Microsuction Earwax Removal Course is a comprehensive training program designed for nurses, GPs, audiologists, and hearcare assistants. Group sizes are kept small for a personalised experience. Unlike other providers, attendees gain hands-on experience on real patients. Participants will be provided with training material and successful trainees will receive a certificate on completion. All training is carried out by Hafiza, a senior audiologist of over 20 years and with experience in performing microsuction for 10 years. DAY 1 // LIVE DISTANT LEARNING // 09:00 - 17:00 Participants learn about the anatomy of the ear, common ear conditions, earwax types, and the principles of microsuction. Day 2 // IN CLINIC (the day after the theory session) // 09:00-17:30 Practical sessions provide hands-on training in which to apply theory, with specialised equipment, ensuring proficiency in the procedure. Emphasis is placed on patient safety, infection control, and communication skills.

I would like to invite you for a repeat hearing test as it has been approximately a year since your last hearing assessment. This appointment will include ear examination, an update on your medical history and a review of your hearing aids. This is a group session for people with tinnitus and their loved ones to understand a bit about the mechanisms of tinnitus and the management options. The session includes a workbook and works well alongside our other session 'Breathing & Relaxation for Tinnitus', which you can book separately.

This appointment is a group session (limited to 5 participants), to help those of you with tinnitus to relax. Quite often there is some anxiety around tinnitus and we forget to breathe well and tense up. During this session we will explore different breathing techniques and work on relaxation. We also have an 'Understanding Tinnitus' appointment which can be booked alongside this session where we explore tinnitus in a bit more detail.

Providing you have no allergies or pre-existing ear-related medical conditions, it may be beneficial for you to use olive oil or sodium bicarbonate based drops at least 3 days before booking an appointment. Rebooking may be required if the wax is hard and impacted, and there is no charge for the first extra session. Our senior audiologist will perform otoscopy to check the health of your ears. In some cases, we may pick up an infection in which case a report will be written to your GP. If wax is present it may be possible to clean your ears on the same day. In some cases softening the wax is recommended first and the audiologist will be able to advise on this. If you are a dentist, dental therapist or dental hygienist and you have noticed ringing in your ears or difficulty hearing certain sounds, this may be a result of the noisy tools that you work with. Preserve your hearing and prevent tinnitus with some custom medical grade silicone earplugs. You have a choice of two earplugs:- 1. NoiseBarrier: These custom silicone earplugs filter sounds via a hocks hollow chamber. 2. ACS Pro *26: These custom silicone earplugs have interchangeable filters attached. *26 is the recommended filter level, lower levels are also available. Please note that this is a screening check and not a full hearing assessment, therefore, it doesn't include history taking or report writing, which may be necessary.
