Swim plugs prevent water from entering your ears and reduce the risk of infection, especially if you have a perforated ear drum or a history of ear infections. They also reduce the risk of swimmers' ear and exostoses. These swim plugs are custom made silicone earplugs that float and come in bright colours so you can find them easily. If you need to hear some sounds around you e.g. when surfing then we have the 'Alert' option that feature a filter that allows you to hear sound whilst remaining protected from the water. In some cases, it may be necessary to remove earwax before impressions can be taken; this microsuction service is chargeable. Rebooking may be required if the wax is hard and impacted, and there is no charge for the first extra session. This CPD accredited Microsuction Earwax Removal Course is a comprehensive training program designed for nurses, GPs, audiologists, and hearcare assistants. Group sizes are kept small for a personalised experience. Unlike other providers, attendees gain hands-on experience on real patients. Participants will be provided with training material and successful trainees will receive a certificate on completion. All training is carried out by Hafiza, a senior audiologist of over 20 years and with experience in performing microsuction for 10 years. DAY 1 // LIVE DISTANT LEARNING // 09:00 - 17:00 Participants learn about the anatomy of the ear, common ear conditions, earwax types, and the principles of microsuction. Day 2 // IN CLINIC (the day after the theory session) // 09:00-17:30 Practical sessions provide hands-on training in which to apply theory, with specialised equipment, ensuring proficiency in the procedure. Emphasis is placed on patient safety, infection control, and communication skills.

This two day course is specifically tailored to provide training on microsuction wax removal for adults. It is intended for audiologists, hearing aid dispensers, GPs, and nurses, with prior experience handling patients requiring ear care. All attendees must be registered with a relevant governing body, such as the HCPC, and be adequately insured to offer microsuction as a procedure within their service i.e. your insurer must state on your policy details that you are insured to perform microsuction.
